If Niguez’s arrival in Manchester does bring an end to Pogba’s second spell at Old Trafford it will surely be a massive embarrassment for the club. United paid Juventus a then world record £89 million to re-sign Pogba from Juventus in the summer of 2016, having allowed him to move to Italy for free as a teenager.
The France international has however, failed to live up to his billing as one of the world’s best midfielders since arriving back in England.
