MANCHESTER UNITED MEGA STAR REPLACEMENT AGREE DEAL, CITY LINKED

Thursday, April 26, 2018

Jose Mourinho revealed that he will strengthen the midfield of Manchester United, and reports have indicated that the Red Devils are preparing a bid for Brazil and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.

Fred move to Shakhtar Donetsk from his country club Internacional in the summer of 2013 and since then, the 25-year-old midfielder has been a key figure for the Ukrainian team. This term, the midfielder has had 23 League appearances, scoring three goals for his side.

Manchester City tried to sign the player in the January transfer window but withdrew their interest. According Manchester Evening News, United are “pushing to conclude a deal” for the star following the withdrawing of Man City from the race.

Mourinho revealed earlier this week that Michael Carrick will retire at the end of the season and the uncertainty surrounding the future of Marouane Fellaini has prompted the side to be on the search for two midfielders – Fellaini has refused to sign a new deal with the club and his contract situation remains unresolved.

Fred is not the only midfielder on the radar of Man United – Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic and Julian Weigl have also been scouted by the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also looking to sign a left and right back, with reports now linking Tottenham’s left bank Danny Rose with a move to Old Trafford. Should United sign Rose, they would listen to offers for Luke Shaw.
