BREAKING ESPN: Browns’ biggest roster decision is...Hue Jackson?

Tuesday, June 19, 2018

Field Yates of ESPN went through all 32 teams in the NFL and came up with one big roster decision that each team faces in 2018. The odd thing when it comes to the Cleveland Browns is the biggest roster decision involved their head coach, not any players.
The Hue Jackson decision. There are a lot of ways to go here, including the obvious question of when Baker Mayfield will take the starting reins. But let’s focus on Jackson, who as the coach carries the burden of a 1-31 record over the past two seasons.

Whenever a new general manager is hired, the question of whether a new coach will be installed soon follows. Owner Jimmy Haslam declared Jackson would return for 2018 and with a beefed-up roster -- there’s a lot to like about what Cleveland has done this offseason -- he likely needs decided improvement to cement his status as the head coach beyond this season.
For all 31 other teams in the NFL, Yates discussed actual big moves or question marks about players. The fact that he went against the grain for Cleveland to talk about Hue Jackson specifically just goes to show you how think of a leash people have in 2018.

The big roster decisions in the rest of the AFC North included whether C.J. Mosley will get paid what he wants in Baltimore, the Bengals trying to fix the right side of their offensive line, and whether Le’Veon Bell will be rich and with a long-term deal.
