Manchester United are weighing in on a deal for Russia and CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, this is according to report.

Mourinho revealed during the January transfer window that Man United will be active in the transfer window but for the signing of midfielder(s). The club is already heavily linked with a move for Brazilian Fred and Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – however, Mourinho now seem to have a plethora of players to pick from and Golovin has emerged as a prime target for the Premier League runners-up.

Ahead of the world cup, Mourinho was spotted in Innsbruck as Austria took on Russia in a friendly game as they geared up for world cup and it was claimed that the Portuguese manager was there to keep tabs on his target Marko Arnautovic. Nonetheless, the Sun has claimed that Mourinho’s primary aim of seeing the game was to keep an eye on Golovin.

The report claimed that Mourinho is already preparing for life without Juan Mata and he has identified Golovin as the long term replacement of the Spaniard. The 22-year-old midfielder is valued at £15million and this would not present any challenge of the Red Devils.
