Chelsea in talks to sign £53m Tanguy N’Dombele as N’Golo Kante’s potential replacement

Chelsea are lining up Lyon midfielder Tanguy N’Dombele as a potential replacement for N’Golo Kante, according to reports in France. Kante, who was signed for £32 million from Leicester City two years ago, has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

And last week, reports in France claimed that PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique travelled to London to hold talks about a potential deal for the 27-year-old. It has also been claimed that Kante would be interested in joining the French champions, although he is waiting to find out the identity of Chelsea’s new manager to replace Antonio Conte.

On Monday, L’Equipe reported that Tottenham have opened talks with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas about a deal for N’Dombele.

Lyon have rejected a €40m (£35m) opening bid from Spurs for N’Dombele and value the 21-year-old at around €60m (£53m).
