Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on German left back Philipp Max. Reports coming from the player’s camp claims the player would not turn down the opportunity to play in England. Mourinho is reportedly looking for a left back this summer. Reports coming from Italy suggest that Max is keen to play in the Premier League.

According to reports from Germany, Augsburg values the defender at around £40 million. Max is currently reeling from being dropped from the World Cup squad. His representatives revealed that the player feels disappointed losing out to Koln defender Hector Jonas for a spot in Germany squad.

Max has attracted the interest of several clubs such as Dortmund, Napoli but the player’s heart is set on United. The Augsburg left-back has became the first defender to reach 12 assists in a single season.

The full back has previously stated his ambition of playing in the Premier League. During an interview with German tabloid Sport Bild, the 24-year-old revealed:

“I’ve dreamed of playing abroad since I was a kid and I think the English league would be a good match for my straightforward style on the pitch,”
Max whose main qualities are his pace and crossing ability contributed 13 assists in the Bundesliga one shy of assist leader Thomas Muller. Manchester United fans would love his attitude and playing style if signed and is an upgrade to forgotten man Luke Shaw.
