PICTURE: Confirmed New:Medicals completed Man United completes another summer deal

Manchester United have completed a medical test for Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant ahead of his surprise move to the Premier League this summer.

The goalkeeper impressed the Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho in a clash with the Stoke City in 2016 and looks set to become their third choice goalkeeper for the upcoming season.

With Joel Pereira and Sam Johnstone still at Old Trafford, it’s believed the club are planning shipping the former out of the club on loan while Johnstone is reportedly close to a 6.5m GBP switch to West Bromwich Albion.

Some might wonder why Manchester United have bothered to sign another keeper when they have such strength in depth already.

One might wonder why the Red Devils have choosed to bring in another goalkeeper to the club when they already look set-up in that region. But with Sergio Romero injured and missed out from the World Cup, Mourinho obviously feels that if De Gea and Romero were injured at a crucial stage of the season he wouldn’t yet be able to count on the services of the coltish Pereira.

Joining Manchester United would be a dream move from Grant’s who despite playing for England U21s four times between 2003-4, has spent his career with smaller clubs such as Oldham, Burnley, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday.
