GOOD ONE: BBC Sport journalist reveals two deals Jose Mourinho wants done

Saturday, July 21, 2018

Manchester United boss Mourinho appears to be growing frustrated at the lack of transfer business this summer
The Red Devils moved quickly to sign Fred and Diago Dalot, with Lee Grant since arriving from Stoke.

Manchester United, however, appear to be slipping behind their rivals with Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea all strengthening.

Even Arsenal, who finished sixth under Arsene Wenger last season, have splashed the cash on five new recruits.

And BBC Sport journalist Bill Rice has claimed United want a centre-back and winger to complete their business.
He said: "The arrival of Brazilian midfielder Fred gives United added steel and grit in midfield, and should allow Paul Pogba to flourish further upfield on his return from a successful World Cup, while teenage full-back Diogo Dalot's arrival led to Daley Blind's departure after just four Premier League starts last season.
"A commanding central defender and another hardworking wide player are the areas manager Jose Mourinho will look to strengthen, with Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld and Chelsea's Willian among the names in the frame.

"Don't rule out a statement signing too, United - having opted not to pursue re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo nine years after he left the club for Spain - would surely be near the front of the queue if Gareth Bale also decides to leave Real Madrid this summer."

United are finding their quest to land top transfer targets easier said than done.

Alderweireld remains out of reach with Tottenham demanding a massive £70million to part with the defender.
Regarding Willian, United are keen to secure the Chelsea star’s signature.

But Barcelona are also in the race for his signature, with Ernesto Valverde a huge admirer.
Gareth Bale is United’s chief transfer target.

However, a Real Madrid star is now likely in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to join Juventus.
